The frontal ankle view shows a linear density over the medial malleolus. There is a well corticated bony fragment below the lateral malleolus. CT scan of the ankle showed these to be old injuries.

The lateral ankle x-ray shows an undisplaced fracture of the anterior process of the calcaneus.

The calcaneus fracture was managed conservatively with a below knee plaster and nonweight bearing crutches.

The purpose of this week’s imaging case is to highlight a term called ‘Satisfaction of Search’ used in Radiology. After identifying one abnormality, keep looking for additional abnormalities.
