The chest x-ray shows an abnormal area of calcific density in the right paratracheal area of thoracic inlet. Further investigations revealed a calcified nodule in the lower pole of the right thyroid lobe.

Remember to look carefully at the review areas while interpreting a chest x-ray:

  • Lung apices.
  • Hilum.
  • Retrocardiac area.
  • Below the diaphragms.
