Lab case 233

30 years old lady was sent by her GP for increasing tiredness over few months period. She has been under too much stress due to work load and her wedding planning.

Her blood gases (Venous) showed the following:

PH = 7.47

PCO2 = 57 mmHg

HCO3 = 39.2 mmol/L

BE = 12.6 mmol/L

Na = 136 mmol/L

K = 2.2 mmol/L

Cl = 89 mmol/L

Glucose = 4.6 mmol/L

Lactate = 1.3 mmol/L

Hb = 151 g/L
